CHAS - Contractor Health and Safety assessment scheme
The CHAS scheme assesses companies to ensure that they meet health and safety
compliance standards. Many organizations including councils, NHS trusts and housing associations require CHAS
accreditation before allowing contractors to work at their properties.
The CHAS scheme assesses various aspects of health and safety including the health and safety
policy statement, the contractors health and safety organisation and that overall health and safety arrangements
are to acceptable standards.
